We did it! Through Christ, the Gap Gals Ministry was able to implement our first crusade on April 27, 2012. We had a turnout that surprised us all with well over 1,000 women in attendance! Before the crusade, we held a vendor and ministry fair with participation of 20+ businesses, 7 churches, and 6 ministries. The environment was jovial and energizing with KSGN blasting tunes for everyone’s enjoyment.
The crusade itself was just amazing! Cathy Rich, testimonial speaker, gave her heartfelt testimony which moved many women to tears as they heard how Jesus could redeem the gravest situation into a life of rejoicing. Christian music artist, Jana Alayra, brought so much joy into the house with her gift of engaging, upbeat music, she had women joining her on stage to dance! Jana also shared how the tragedy of her life has been used to bring healing and glory to Jesus. A beautiful team of volunteers participated in the most heartfelt moment of the evening when they shared their Cardboard Testimonies of how God has changed their lives.
Donna Jones, guest speaker, closed the evening with a poignant message on revitalization and Jesus’ love for us. She encouraged women from every walk of life and every situation to believe that Jesus is right there, waiting for us to come to Him so He can give us the revived life that He wants for us. All praise, glory, and honor go to our Lord for the success of our first ever Revive Crusade!
This last M n M (ministry network meeting) was by far the best one yet!! We had over 80 women attend and over half were new women who had never attended in the past. We had a few new churches join us as well.
Corona Friends did a wonderful job hosting our 4th M n M. Worship was engaging and set the heart and tone for the evening. Nancy Jernigan (pastors wife from Corona Friends) started us off with a wonderful prayer. We launched our evening with a promo video announcing our first annual Crusade theme. REVIVE Women's Crusade. REVIVE is the perfect theme for this years Crusade as many lives need to be refreshed, renewed, and restored with God's love.
The best part of the evening was the network and fellowship time. Women were so excited to share with one another what REVIVE meant to them and how we can bring revival to this great city. We had an opportunity to hear from the leaders of each table the hearts and mind of women in the room that evening. It was truly amazing to see women from all different churches be united and share our hearts together.
We ended the evening like always with our unity song. We circled the sanctuary holding hands with one another being united in one spirit and one mind, which is our Lord Jesus Christ. Truly an awesome sight to see!!
Terri Rodriguez message can be summed up in a poem she shared; In every heart lives a dove and a crow. The one that's fed is the one that grows. Simple words, but so true.
Jen Wall spoke of the need to have others validate us and how important it is to seek God's approval and not mans. Say it With Love Cards were raffled and available for purchase. If you missed these beautiful and touching cards, you can visit Judi's site at sayitwithlovecards.com
Guest Speaker Andi Strange, Women’s Ministry Leader at Olive Branch, delivered a meaningful and encouraging message relating fashion and sharing God’s word. She reminded us that we need to be aware of opportunities to serve the Lord, even at work. We never know how demonstrating Godly character will speak to those around us.
Spotlight Speaker Our young spot light speaker, Alyssa Ronkes, touched us with her testimony. She had the profound opportunity to testify to her grandparents who had been practicing Buddhism religion their entire lives. When it came time, God stirred her heart to speak to them. Sure, she felt uncomfortable with the whole situation, but she was obedient and courageous. Wouldn’t you know it, God gave her all the right words and her grandparents gave their lives to the Lord. One of the tools she used to testify to them was a finger gospel technique she had learned back in youth group.
